TN: 1999 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Clos Jebsal Sélection de Grains Nobles

  • 1999 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Clos Jebsal Sélection de Grains Nobles - France, Alsace, Turckheim, Alsace AOC (7/20/2011)
Mature orange in color. Nice nose of peaches, apricot and some minerality. Beautiful palate of peaches, apricot and creme brulee. Sweet, but not cloying, with perfect balance of sugar and acid. No bitterness and a wonderful finish. Z-H dessert wines with 10+ years of bottle age do it for me. This was no exception. (93 pts.)

Nice note and I agree, ZH sweets do it for me too. I had a 95’ of this same wine a few months back that was outstanding. The SGN with some age always seems difficult to procure here in the states.

Great note. Coincidentally I attended a Z-H portfolio tasting tonight. All were great wines but we didn’t get into the desserts unfortunately.
