I don't know, but have wondered the same. ... watching with interest.

In other news: currently occupying my glass: Monkish - "Freshie Coast" WCIIPA. Well-done, but, honestly, just "very good." Too bad out of the five different cans I bought a couple days ago this is the *one* where I bought two four packs instead of one. [swearing.gif]
To funny, that's the one I bought this week I'd wish I would have grabbed another four pack champagne.gif

New Belgium Voodoo Ranger IPA not bad for the money.

It killed me today however that I had to buy a six pack of Miller Lite because that is the only beer my wife will boil the brats with!

Green Cheek Beer Co. Slagathor's Liar. DDH TIPA.10.2% ABV. Hopped with Simcoe, Citra Cryo and Nelson Sauvin. Another masterpiece from arguably one of the best brewers of this style.Creamy milky orangish yellow in color, this is a papaya bomb, along with peach rings, sweet tangerine, passion fruit, NZ Sauvin Blanc and lots of sweet red grapefruit. The nose is a bowl of summer fruit salad followed by the above mentioned flavor profiles. As with the majority of Evans triples the alcohol is non existent, this drinks like an 7.5% DIPA. The entire package is delivered on a semi soft scarily crushable body that manages to finish long, dry and cleanly bittersweet. Incredible craftsmanship. Available at the brewery for to go sales only.

Highly Recommended,

Cheers,

Bud
In wine we would run from a label like that but beer usually means it is good!

Had their DIPA Drama King today and really enjoyed it. Hoppy but balanced, more bracing than smooth. Loved the finish.

On draught in Coos Bay.

ran out of IPA last night so had a an Imperial Oatmeal Stout "Dark Star" from Fremont. Man, talk about boooooring! Won't be buying that one again. Drinking my last Swami's IPA forced me there.

First time having this Jolly Pumpkin. "Fruited Oak-Aged Saison"- brewed with blood orange and ginger.
I love just about every Jolly Pumpkin beer, but the ginger in this one is a little overpowering. Not my favorite.

Green Cheek Beer Co. ASAP As Possible, fresh wet hopped IPA, hopped entirely with Strata hops, 7% ABV. My favorite time of year, and this fresh wet hopped IPA is a delicious way to kick it off. Huge expressive aromatics with a palate that shows lychee, candied mango, red berries and mandarine oranges. Long dry bittersweet finish. This is a next level fresh wet hopped ale.

Highly Recommended,

Cheers,

Bud

What I had was not one of the wax-topped bottles. Rather, just a regular 12 oz. can.

Had H-A Pils on draught at Gino’s in Sellwood Saturday night with clams. Epic meal made more memorable by my check being picked up by a bar patron!

Barkeep just told me thanks for covering our hospital, you’re check has been covered.

Happy National Drink Beer Day (not to be confused with Beer Day which is 4/7).

Last night I had Yazoo Brewing Co (Madison, TN) Calla IPA, courtesy of an IPA of the month club subscription that I was gifted as a birthday present this year. A relatively light-weight summer-time style hazy IPA, 6%. Can't say I really enjoyed it, since I'm definitely a fan of west coast style IPA's by comparison. The Calla lacked some oomph in the body (meaning both depth and edge or punch), as one might expect given the style, and was overall fairly forgettable. On the upside, it is nice to have access to beers that I wouldn't normally find--much less seek out--just for the sake of experience.

Abzug may be my favorite beer that we make (besides Pils). I need to lobby Lisa to make it again...

Green Cheek Beer Co. The Earth Is Round(but everything on it is flat) DDH TIPA 10.1% ABV. Hopped with Galaxy and Citra hops. Stoked to see this back in rotation after a long hiatus. One of my favorite Cheeky big beers, super juicy but so approachable despite the ABV. Gobs of ripe tropical and stone fruits with sweet citrus on the finish. A fantastic beer to celebrate the Dodgers beating the hated one's !

Highly Recommended,

Cheers,
