Mcilhenny Brewing Opens In Original Alpine Space

For all you lovers of the original Alpine Beer Co.and loved Pat and Shawns amazing beers you can once again taste the magic. They opened yesterday in their original re-modeled space up on the hill in Alpine Ca. with a tasty line up that included “Muntz” which is basically their new take on their beloved Nelson IPA. It’s still Nelson with a bit of Rye in the grain bill but they have brilliantly replaced the Southern Cross with Nectaron hops. Lot’s of lovers of the OG actually didn’t realize that Southern Cross was in the recipe as the bittering hop with its characteristic notes of lemon zest and pine needles that quietly kicked up the Nelson hops and let the Rye add that dimension that made that beer so special.

Cheers,

Bud

I’m headed down to San Diego in a few weeks, looks like I’ll be headed up the hill. Thank you for this.
