Wine Cabinet options

Has anyone ever seen or had any experience with someone building custom cabinetry around a freestanding wine unit ?

I am planning a wine cabinet in the dining room as part of a whole house renovation and it seems like the cost per bottle capacity for a custom built wine cabinet far exceeds the freestanding options ( like x 3 ). I was wondering if there are options to use the unit but build cabinetry around similar to panel ready built in refrigerators.

Freestanding unit as an example: https://www.vinotemp.com/700-model-wine-cabinet-with-2-glass-doors

I am looking for at least 500 bottle capacity, and obviously the more the better but the cost for totally custom seems to be higher than worth it for the amount of capacity I am going to end up getting since I only have about 84h x 120w x 44d. The depth was another reason I was concerned about making the custom build work but it seems to be fine for most stand alone units.

Thanks in advance for any input.

You will need to make sure the stand alone unit is designed for front venting. Many units have the cooling coils on the back and if you shove this into an enclosed cabinet it may not properly operate.

Be aware of the noise this will put out. Being in your dining room may not be an issue if you use it sparingly but if your main living area is next to it and trying to have some quiet in that room may not be possible, I had a cellarpro 1800 and although it was quiet I was super happy it was in a sitting room that was 30 feet away from the living room…
