Buying a case of 'big name' or 'cult wines'

Hello, I’m a newbie here, so pardon my ignorance. But I wonder, how does one obtain a case of Mouton, Petrus, etc? I realize that you can buy at auction, but how does one get a future (?) of wines like that?

Bordeaux is easy to get if you don’t mind the price. Futures are sold starting in the spring following the vintage. Many stores offer them.

Older vintages from Bordeaux are readily available, retail or auction.

True cult wines like Screaming Eagle will be much harder to find and you’ll be paying a secondary market price.
