TN: 2019 Chappellet ‘Mountain Cuvée’

Picked up at a local market for $27

90 minute decant
Opaque crimson, purple sheen
Fruit forward nose; dark fruits, anise
Quite rich, a terrific mouthful kiss of cassis, with acidity and some gumption-filled tannins, both giving the full body, long finish some satisfying ‘crunch’, offsetting the gush of fruit
A wee tad of ‘manufactured’ quality pulls this down a point or two for me
Nothing overly complex, but loads of fruit ‘kick’ w/o over ripeness
91-92 points

Ergh…wrong category.

Nice - sounds great. According to W-S Pro, the least expensive Mountain Cuvee in lovely WA State (tongue in cheek when it comes to alcohol prices) is $49.99 for this. I’d love to buy it for $27!
