Nantucket

Web sites for two restaurants in town permit BYOB. Black-Eyed Susan’s and Centre Street Cafe. Also Sconset Cafe on Eastern side of island in Siasconset. Anyone been? Worth the cab fare to Siasconset?

There are BYOB places in Nantucket,
And they each do have a wine bucket.
Bringing your own wine can sometimes be work,
The sommelier may even give you a smirk.
So buy a bottle and just say f-k it.

Couldn’t help it. Enjoy the trip.

Good advice. Like most seashore towns, it’s unbearable on weekends. But mid-weeks are terrific. No problem getting restaurant reservations or booking rooms. I’ve been to Cape Cod, the Hamptons and Martha’s Vineyard from Sunday to Friday and all have been relatively deserted. Jet Blue flies to Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket from JKF. in less than an hour.

We enjoyed the Centre Street Bistro enough to eat two out of three diners there. Black Eyed Susan’s was more expensive, very loud and they force you to line up at 5:30 to reserve a table for 7:30 or 9:15 seatings.

Your limerick craft needs some work
It’s causing Berserkers to smirk
You must count up each syllable
Every beat that is fillable
Or else you will look like a jerk

I tried to do something fun
Some syllables were off by more than one
So mine wasn’t great
Decant a bottle and wait
And I promise now I am done.

When dealing with limerick amateurs
It is best to rely on the Manager
He will tune up your prose
You’ll come out like a rose
If my ear were a **** I would **** it
