Kansas City Area

Here is a list of places I’m aware of (though I haven’t been to all of them). Most of them are on the Kansas side of the state line, as until recently, Kansas City, MO restaurants were unable to allow corkage. Feel free to PM me with additions or corrections.

As of Jan 31 the ordinance prohibiting Kansas City, MO restaurants from allowing BYO has been repealed. KCMO restaurants are still in the process of determining their corkage policies, so I’ll update the above post as I hear of policies at particular restaurants.

Michael Smith’s/Extra Virgin is $30/bottle

Houston’s is not allowing BYOB at this time

The Capital Grille is $25/bottle - only allowing 1 bottle - don’t know if that is per customer or table.

Thanks for the updates, Ryan. On the Michael Smith website they have $35 as the fee, so that’s what I have in the main post for now. If you’ve been there recently and it’s now $30 I’ll edit it.

Webster House = $20/bottle - Limit 2 bottles

Pierponts = $15/bottle

Although, the food leaves a lot to be desired.

Le Fou Frog = $25/bottle

On a side note, first time there was last night and I thought it was fantastic

Can anyone make suggestions on wine shops for Kansas City, MO? Are there any that are particularly good or worth a visit when in town?

Spencer, I would go to Gomer’s Midtown at 3838 Broadway and ask for Jim Coley (who is a WB member). Best shop in KC.

Aixois is another BYO, but I don’t remember the fee - very reasonable as I remember.

+1

Thanks, guys. I will check it out when I am in Kansas City. Looks like they’re respected for their beer selection too.
