100% Cabernet

Hi -
We are putting on a blending experience for our Club Members and limited other fans. We did it last fall and everyone had a wonderful time. Great Fun!

My biggest problem was finding 100% Cabernet with reasonable quality and price. Last time I used the Hedges Red Mountain Cab that is exclusive to Total Wines at $25. It worked really well when blended with the other components we provided: Merlot, Cab Franc, and Petit Verdot.

While I will use the Hedges again if I can get enough bottles (1-2 cases) and I am familiar with the Wines of Substance ‘CS’ Cabernet ($15 @ K&L), I wonder if anyone has other suggestions that we should look at?

Larry

Have done multiple blendings over the years in Napa and Sonoma. Cabernet always sourced from winery that I was blending at.

We make a 100% Single Vineyard Cabernet that we label “Red Wine” from Paso. We label it that so it doesn’t compete with our high end cab. It’s $17.00 on nsowines.com

It’s an excellent cabernet and performs well above its price point.

Thanks for the feedback. DustyNabor, sounds interesting. I’ll have to try it.
