"Must Do" in the Mosel?

#1 Post by Tom D » March 5th, 2013, 8:42 am

My wife and I will be traveling through the Mosel region for our first time this fall (Sept/Oct). As a local, what are three things that you feel we must do/see/experience? Thanks in advance! [cheers.gif]

If you came for the 29th of August-Sept you could attend the Middlemosel wine festival. Also, if you do some research you can find other festivals when you are here.
A boat cruise is a nice way to see the vineyards and you can stop in several villages along the way.
Of course you can stop by for a private tasting at the estate, just send a request to info@drloosen.de
Trier is a lot not far away, and there is a lot of history as it is the oldest city in Germany.

Tom, have a look at my web site: http://www.germancrush.com for some photos from my visit to the Mosel and the estates on the Mosel and Saar. I was there at the very end of October, and on October 31st everything seems to close down and the tourists evaporate.

If I can answer any travel questions I would be glad to do so. Paul
