Rip Joël Robuchon

I have eaten a few times at his restaurants and once at a private press dinner, where he spoke about cooking and passion, and how for him, there was no gap. The food was of course extraordinary every time.

It’s been a bad year for the food world.

So sad. Had the privilege and pleasure of dining at Cafe Jamin several times shortly after it received its first Michelin star. Goes back many years. Just wonderful.

I have very fond memories of meals at the original L’Atelier Joel Robuchon in Paris back in 2003. Amazing flavors and technique in a casual yet elegant setting.

I first ate at Jamin in Paris in the late 80’s and was amazed at the dinner he prepared. And I’ve eaten at l’Atelier and also was impressed. He was a great talent. Sorry to hear about him.

Had a great meal there as well in the same time frame. I remember we had to wait more than two hours for a table but it was worth it. Still remember those potatoes.
