Irish court rules that Subway's rolls cannot be considered bread

Irish law limits the amount of sugar in a roll to 2% for it to be considered bread for tax purposes. Subway’s rolls have 10%

Subway sucks . Blimpie rules !

Next thing you know, coming from the land of Guiness, they’ll be going after Miller Lite. champagne.gif

Subway is vile.

Last time I went into one to get a bag of chips (I figger they can’t screw that up) the radioactive bacterial sheen on the sliced ‘meats’ lit up the store.

Does it caramelize If you agree to toasting?

10%? :astonished: [shock.gif] [swearing.gif]
That’s half way to cake. Blech. [bleh.gif]

^This.^

I didn’t know Ireland had subways.

They should rule on whether their cold cuts can be considered meat

Subway can’t be considered food for humans.

I think a lot of American bread would fail to meet the Irish requirement of < 2%. Dave’s Killer bread, for example: 5g sugar for a 45g serving. (I did read that Dave has lower sugar versions these days.)

Not defending Subway by any means… America has a sweet tooth.
