Anybody grow mushrooms?

I have a great shady wooded area behind our townhouse.
If I grow my own maybe I’ll stop cursing at the produce section in the grocery store.

I would appreciate recs.

I’ll get some info from my daughter - they started last year.

This guy has a good channel:

Look at fungi perfecti website, Paul Stamitz. Soup to nuts

https://mushroommountain.com/ is in the SC upstate. I may give them a whirl.

I grew some using the log method. Drilled holes in some oak logs and inserted plug spawns and then covered with food grade wax.
Red oak for shitake and white oak for oyster mushrooms. (A friend who grows them indicated the correct species of wood to use.)
Shitake did OK. Never got oysters worth harvesting.
In retrospect, my issue was I never kept the logs sufficiently damp.
