A food youtuber I watch was promo-ing them and I bought several and their standard santoku knife is extremely defective. I e-mailed customer support and they sent me a new one very promptly which I do give credit for. The 2nd knife wasn’t AS bad, but still suffered the same defect. I don’t suspect they’d send a 3rd. What was happening is about 2 inches from the point of the blade the edge seemed to be missing material. Instead of the knife belly rounding into a point it… it was rounding in??? and it made the knife look like it has a beak. I’m going to a local knife sharpener near me to see if they can re-profile the knives. I know I could do this myself, but I’m not adept at re-profiling. I’ve only done simple sharpening.
I have a really nice one I’m happy with.
The other 4 knives didn’t seem to have any immediate noticeable defects… just the 7" santoku seems effed.
