Auction Closes: 8pm PT

3 magnums (1.5L) bottles of 2014 Goodfellow Whistling Ridge Pinot Noir

With more than ten clones of Pinot Noir planted in the shallow marine sedimentary soils at Whistling Ridge, the clonal diversity here creates an expression of site totally removed from clonal character. Dry farming encourages deep roots and daily wind that blows in the afternoons and evening keeps the canopy fresh in the heat of the summer. Handpicked fruit sorted and fermented with native yeasts in small lots with varying amounts of whole clusters. Elevage takes place in 25% new French oak puncheons for 18-21 months and the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered. The wines show off Ribbon Ridge character of dusty red and black fruit, sappy spice and firm, savory structure.
