One Magnum of 2014 Franny Beck Johan Vineyard Pinot Noir
Wow… look at the Cellartracker tasting notes on all the Franny Beck wines here ! Impressive
At Franny Beck our goal is to not only create wines of balance, but wines that speak to the place from which they come—vintage specific, vineyard centered, elegant and honest wines. We work with growers who either farm organically or biodynamically, two baselines that help to ensure that the fruit we use to make our wine is of the highest quality. All of the fruit is hand harvested and picked when optimal physiological ripeness has been achieved.
What this means is that, while we utilize chemistries like brix, pH and TA, we base our picking decisions on flavor. In doing so, we bring in fruit to the winery that is at the optimal point to produce the types of wines that we love and believe show the best that the Willamette Valley has to offer. Once in the winery, we try our best to get out of the way and let the fruit become the wines that it wants to be. We are low impact with our ferments, ensuring that the place, the terroir of each vineyard, is allowed to express itself.
Hey Paul, thank you so much for helping to support the Berserker Community! The ‘14 Johan may be my favorite wine aromatically that I’ve made. Super floral and flinty with lots of baking spice, orange peel and delicate fruit on the palate. Enjoy, man, it’s a good one!
