Planning a short Spring driving trip through Sicily. Have only 1 full day to spend in either (can’t do both) Siracusa or Agrigento (valley of the temples). Which do you suggest and why? Palermo hotel suggestions also needed.
We stayed at the Villa Igiea in Palermo and were very impressed.It is a five star hotel that is on the periphery of Palermo so you need a taxi to get into town ( about 10 or15 minutes) but it is beautiful.Palermo was rather crowded and dirty and we didn’t like the other hotels.

Hey, are you planning on driving from Palermo to Siracusa in a day? Round trip? Can’t do it.
We did day trip from Palermo to Agrigento. Easy drive.
About 30 minutes west of Palermo, but worlds apart. Great national park along the ocean.
Agrigento is great and don’t miss Piazza Armerina!
The Villa Romana del Casale is cool. We stopped by on our way to Mt Etna, etc.
Also, search “Rick steves Sicily” on YouTube. He has about 4 episodes there. Cat doesn’t miss much.
A full day to spend? Definitely do Agrigento.
