Bordeaux during En Primeur?

My wife and I made plans to visit a week in Piemonte (1 week before VinItaly) and a week in Bordeaux (a week after En Primeur). We made plans about a year ago and we are looking forward to our trip. One of our Master Somm friends at Margaux emailed and told us that En Primeur has been pushed a week forward which means during half of the week we are there, no tasting appointments will be available. And also, the city will be at it’s peak in crowds.

Has anyone visited Bordeaux during this week? Does the city seem over crowded? I know this is a crazy question, but is there much to do besides wine? All of our travel is wine related so we are quite bummed out we will miss a few days of tasting if we decide to keep our plans in going to Bordeaux.

Thanks for your help!
