Restaurant recommendations in Paris

We will be in Paris for a few days next month. We are staying in the 3rd (Haut Marais) area. If you have any recommendations of lunch/dinner restaurants, we would appreciate them. We are looking for more small, bistro like places. We are not interested in the big name €200 per person places. Fresh food, decent wine, comfortable atmosphere, and hopefully available without a 2 hour wait would be perfect. We like food of all kinds so ethnic restaurants are welcome.

Thanks,

Michael

Brasserie Julien.

Restaurant l’Ange 20 is good value and food and takes online reservations. Or grab a falafel and walk the neighborhood

This is a great recommendation. We are staying about 4 blocks from this place on the same street. Couldn’t get luckier.

Thanks to everyone else and keep the recommendations coming.

We go to Paris about twice a year and have our favorites. Most take reservations online or by email via their websites. We only go to smaller bistros or brasseries.

Here are a few more:

Philou
Clown Bar
Les Arlots
Amarante
Chez L’Ami Jean
Kitchen Ter(re)
Tomy & Co
Le Timbre
Vivant
Le Servan
Le Baratin
Le Bon Georges
Elmer
Le Bon Saint Poirćain
Au Passage
Clover
Le Chateaubriand
Saturne

None of which should cost more tha €100/person for dinner. Most are less; many are much less.

A few that I usually visit when I am in town:

  • Breizh Cafe in the 3rd. The very well known Bretagne creperie. They take reservation requests online now (thankfully).
  • Les Bouquinistes in the 6th, not far from the Marais at all. This is a Guy Savoy restaurant, so it is a big name, but the prices are quite reasonable for the quality.
  • Bistrot Victoires in the 1st. A classic, honest bistro.

Thanks everyone. Looks like I will have no problem finding great places to eat.
