Anyone ever visit the Sherry lodges in Jerez?

I might end up staying for a time in the area sometime this summer.

I did, more than 30 years ago. It was an unsatisfying experience, geared at pushing large numbers of tourists through with a superficial look into the Sherry making process. We only got to talk to tour guides, no wine makers or growers. No special bottles available for purchase.

Just was there last fall.

I made appointments through our distributors and their importers to make arrangements for my visit.
All were up close and personal
Spent 3 nights in Jerez visiting one bodega each day.

A number of years ago, did a tour at Bodegas Tradicion. It was small - maybe 8 people and well worthwhile. Recommended.

Thanks for all the info.

Sounds like planning ahead and making connections pays dividends.
