Need Walla Walla Suggestions

The hubby and I will be in Walla Walla for 5 days in early July. I would love some help narrowing down wine tasting and dining experiences.

We love bold, fruit forward reds, buttery Chards and crisp citrusy Sauvs.

Boutique wineries and opportunities to chat with the actual wine makers really make a good trip into a great one.

I’m looking for hidden gems and not to be missed places.

TIA for you suggestions!

L’Ecole!!! Connie Savage (our forever-member Leo Frokic’s wife - I see you are new here, so you wouldn’t recognize the name, but they are both Berserker Celebs!) is the new managing director or some fancy title. I’d encourage you to check out any wines of theirs that have age on them, however, as they are absolutely delicious, and a great value. I don’t enjoy them young anywhere near as much as with 4-6 years on them - then they absolutely SING! They have a fantastic Chenin Blanc (old vines) that you must try - crazy value

Thanks Todd!

You’ll probably get a plethora of responses here, but I recommend the following:

Rulo - https://www.rulowinery.com/

Gramercy Cellars - http://gramercycellars.com/

Woodward Canyon - https://www.woodwardcanyon.com/

Rotie Cellars - https://www.rotiecellars.com/

I have heard good things about a new spot, but have not yet been. It’s an American outpost of a Spanish producer = Valdemar Estates - https://www.valdemarestates.com/

If you’re looking for something a little different than your normal tasting room = Sleight of Hand - http://www.sofhcellars.com/

Restaurants:

Brasserie Four - https://brasseriefour.com/

Hattaway’s - https://www.hattawaysonalder.com/

Saffron - https://www.saffronmediterraneankitchen.com/

Passatempo Taverna - http://www.passatempowallawalla.com/ - NOTE = I’ve enjoyed my visits but service can be spotty

This is a possibility. Big reds, rich Chardonnay.

Thank you for all of the suggestions!

I might also add The Walls (https://www.thewallsvineyards.com/) as they are very near Gramercy and have a number of chardonnays, if I remember correctly.
