returning to my hometown for all of 3 hours tomorrow and we need a place for a boozy family lunch for 4 walking distance (we got luggage) from the blue line EL

If by boozy you mean decent beers and by the shot bourbon and mezcal, Big Star 
Was there ever an answer that isn’t Big Star? But, if beer is the focus, then Links is perfect imo
