Din Tai Fung

There’s Din Tai Fungs all over the place now, and I hear their corkage is affordable ($15 in Seattle). What’s everyone’s favorite wines to bring in to match the menu? Should I bring my own stems?

When I’ve gone with bigger groups and we provided our own stems, they only charged corkage for 2 bottles despite our opening way more. Not sure if we lucked out, but I’ll always take stems.

Enjoyed a variety of Rieslings, Oregon Chardonnays and Pinots, and Sauvignon Blancs. Plus a few dessert wines.

Champagne & Riesling would be my choices for pairing with the food at Din Tai Fung.

Burgundy, for sure! Bring your own stems.

White Burgundy and Riesling (imo with just a touch of rs) are both great. You just don’t want to overwhelm the soup in the dumplings.

Yes your own stems if you want to bother…

Champagne, white/red burg - pretty much pairs with anything.

remember the restaurant isn’t just XLB… there’s lots of other stuff on the menu.

I think they may be the largest restaurant chain in the world.

Anyway, but for they got fancy here in SoCal there was zero corkage. They wouldn’t even know what that was. The one in Orange County, you probably would not need to bring your own stems.
