Patina in LA closing

DTLA seems to be getting hit especially hard with the turmoil this year.

I didn’t realize that Delaware North had purchased the Patina Restaurant Group and that Patina 250 in Buffalo was under that umbrella until I read this article.

I didn’t know all the details, but knew there were structural changes coinciding with the timeline in the article with Delaware North. Sad to see.

I never really understood how Patina survived without help from the LA music center. We used to go fairly regularly for wine dinners and it was almost always empty unless it was a concert night. Even then it was 1-2 turns. Unfortunate, have had very good meals there

I liked but didn’t love Patina on Melrose and wasn’t a fan of the music center location. Splichal’s best restaurant in my opinion was his first, Max Au Triangle. He cooked nightly and was at his creative best as a chef, rather than a restauranteur.

Had two great meals at Patina, but restaurant was practically empty both times. Almost felt like we were eating at the wrong place.

damn. Waited too long to return.
