I am getting this message, which is what I'm authorizing. It looks like I'm being charged $49.99 if I agree.

"By clicking below, you agree to our Terms of Service, Cookies Policy, Privacy Policy, and automatic renewal. After the trial ends on January 30, 2022, your SOMM TV subscription will begin at a reduced rate for the first year, and renew yearly at its then current rate. You authorize this site, appearing as OTT* SOMMTV, to place a $1 (USD) authorization hold on your card and charge $49.99 USD plus any tax today and each year thereafter at the current rate until you cancel. Cancel any time in your account settings."

Hi there! Yes that's correct. Since it reads "your SOMM TV subscription will begin at a reduced rate for the first year, and renew yearly at its then current rate." it's stating your first year will be at the discounted $20 rate. Renewing the annual subscription after your first year will be at the $49.99 rate. If you wish to not renew before the end of your annual subscription, you can easily cancel online.

Hopefully this helps!

I'm confused, because I see it listed as a promotional rate of $20, but the highlighted area that I'm being asked to authorize says I'm approving "to place a $1 (USD) authorization hold on your card and charge $49.99 USD plus any tax today"

So is it $20 today, and then $49.99 a year later on an automatic charge, or is it $49.99 today like what I'm being asked to approve. It seems contradictory to me. Sorry for the confusion, but I'd love to hear how some others are interpreting this. When I see that I'm approving $49.99 "today" that is confusing.

It’s in the Samsung Tizen App Store. Which is the newer App Store about 3 years old. Some older Samsung TVs don’t have the Tizen store.

One of mine is less than six months old. There may be a way to update a Tizen app to a Samsung Smart TV without Tizen, but the pain in the butt factor is going up significantly. I'll probably just move on. Bummer.

Thanks for sharing! I also recently started to like watching such movies. They are wonderful and interesting, although I know very few of them. I usually use Netflix but often the internet wouldn't let me. But when I read it on https://www.firesticktricks.com/how-to- ... stick.html , everything became clear. So thanks again for sharing, I'll be watching some movies this weekend

Gotta say the UI is awful on Android TV. You'd think there would be an easy way to just find a list of shows and a list of all movies. I would check out a lot more of the content if it didn't give me a headache to search through it. There is some nice and unique content, and it's a great value at the price, but it's very easy to miss things.

Agree, UI is clunky! Definitely not user friendly.

Samsung TV Ui isn’t bad. Still wish they’d go on console. Will again make the offer to do an Xbox intro.
