Well, the 1994 Merlot opened significantly tonight, a full complex of blueberry, dark spice, and iron-flecked mineral notes.
Some spirited WineBid bidding tonight for the 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon.
I uncorked another bottle several nights ago, and pulled it out of my refrigerator tonight. Wow. Superbly lush but elegant and traditional. That 2019 library liquidation was a wonderful opportunity to make this treasure my house wine ever since.
Went for $51 per bottle.
I was outbid on the 1996 cab. I think the same guy got all the lots. Thanks for the heads up Victor.
The wine was just $15 to $20 per 750ml bottle, and $30 per magnum, a few months ago. I wonder who had bought all those…
My last slug of this legacy Liparita merlot is traveling now from Napa. This seems the end of the line, in terms of low-priced retail stock anywhere.
Pretty sure this forum bought all of them after your post Victor haha.
I have one more being delivered next week in my Winebid shipment.
I know I stashed away 4 cases of mixed cab and merlot, including a number of magnums and even a 3L, all '90-94. Everyone I have drank thus far has been delicious. All in cost was less than a 3 pack of Scarecrow
The very oldies still go.
Who said they didn’t?!
