2011 Napa cabs

Matthiasson is really good as well.

We bought a couple of cases of the 74-41 (do I have that right?) and they have all been great with a bit of air. Definitely closer to Bordeaux in terms of profile. Cracked one last night for someone who “hates Napa cabs” and she definitely enjoyed it.

I have had great luck with the 2011s. The mountain sites have been consistently good, with the Cimarossa cabs (for me) being wonderful. But, recently, I’ve had great bottles from VHR, Greer, Blankiet, and Congruence. I’ve also heard from several people with better experience that I have, that they fully expect 2011s to round into great wines across the board. Who knows, but the wines do seem to be better now than when they first came out.
