2017 Caterwaul - Save The Date

I tasted the wine with Will in November. Here’s my brief note:

“It’s got great texture without feeling spoofy at all. Kind of 2 note with blackberry jam and pencil shavings, but very nice frame with ample acidity. With consistent QPR cabs like Rivers Marie up to $75 and even teeter totter has been creeping up into the 60s, this represents Fantastic value at the price point”

It’s a real crowd pleaser and ranks REALLY highly on the list of entry level cabs by top tier winemakers, especially given the price. For what it’s worth, the 17 Myriad Napa was a more complete/complex wine, but it’s up to $70 now, so pick your poison.
