2018 gonon rouge

According to JLL website, Chave makes only 2000 to 3000 bottles of Clos Florentine, not may to go around.

I look forward to tasting yours [cheers.gif] .

I love the Iles de Feray and used to buy a case+ every vintage. Sadly have none since '16 though. That’s down to availability rather than pricing, but I also wouldn’t pay what is currently asked. For me, the Jasmin is okay, but nowhere near the quality of the Gonon. I’d much (much, much) rather have Faury or a few others as substitutes, but none are really the same. The IdF, whether from a substandard region or not, has always been so incredibly vibrant. That Gonon is able to wring such quality out of vines on the flat, while so many others make such middling St. Josephs from better terroir says a lot about Gonon, and hopefully suggests that there could yet be qualitative improvements in the region.
