Dan has asked me to post my wine. I’m moving on Tuesday and my shit is everywhere. Hang in there, I’ll bring some good stuff, and more than one bottle.

I’m planning to bring a couple of older (early 2000s) Scherrer OMV Zins, but I need to see what I can dig out and I’m away from home this week.

I’ve mentioned this before…

My travel friends from Flyertalk hold an annual dinner at North Square in Greenwich Village every June. We eat in the private room. North Square is where Mike P has the CLONYC dinners, so you know the food is good. This year the date is Sunday June 3. Last year was our 10th annual, and the theme was 10 year old wines. Now just between us, dinner is more concentrated on all things travel; but we also talk wine. [cheers.gif]

Some of my friends know wine, and the others have always stepped up (keep in mind this is a travel site, so stepping up isn’t a Berserker step up). To keep things honest, the minimum buy in is a $35 bottle, so in theory there’s no plonk. Many of my friends bring wine that even Berserkers would enjoy. neener

If anyone wants to join us, let me know. Estimated cost is $85 all-in.

The 2nd post has been updated with additional wines.

I will pick something up locally when I arrive on tuesday

I dug through my cellar today and packed these in the Wine Check:

2003 Scherrer Old & Mature Vines Zinfandel
2001 Scherrer Shale Terrace Old & Mature Vines Zinfandel

Edit: Found I had already pulled out the 01 OMV, so I will bring that one.

Weekend bump.

Still M.I.A.

Hmmm. Taps fingers on desk. It looks like the locals (or close) are the ones missing in action. neener

I live. I eat pizza. I will still be present but alas, I have not voted on what to bring in tow.
Probably 2. Probably a Piedmont and a Pinot. Maybe even a Cab…

I think my post may have gotten lost above but I can switch out if it’s not satisfactory!

I will bring a 2014 Hammell Wine Alliance True Believer. I figured this would be fun as I don’t think anyone is bringing a GSM blend so far. Will also be bringing a 2nd bottle TBA

Thanks for the bump. I’ve updated the list.

Feel free to print this out for notes.

does Pobega have anything good?

Bottle 2: 2016 Cameron Giuliano. It’s a blend of Italian varieties (white) from Oregon, seems worth a try.

I will also be bringing the Flat Stanley that my cousin’s kid just sent me, because what could be more New York than a visit to DiFara’s?

Perfect for this dinner, 2004 Pride Cabernet Reserve.

Is the waitlist exhausted? I have someone interested. Probably little chance, huh?

I’m the 5th person on the waitlist, but still hoping… (for next year)

Now 6 on the WL.

If any confirmed attendee thinks they’re going to cancel at the last minute, the drop dead time is 3:00 Tuesday.
