Off the top of my head, the best 07s I have had are Dom Ruinart BdB and Cristal Rose. I know there are others, but these two are what come to mind first. Neither are inexpensive, but the Dom Ruinart BdB is still a pretty good value considering the quality of the wine - especially in 2007.
I had the 2007 Dom Ruinart BdB last night. It’s a really delicious wine. I readily admit that I would have probably guessed it 2008 Dom Perignon blind because of the slightly reductive flint, smoke, mint, and white flower notes right off the bat. But the vanilla cream, citrus, and solid acidity and incredibly refined mousse make this a really special wine. A champagne that begs you to return. Were I specifically hunting for 2007s, this would be at the top of my list as well.
The 2007 Dom Ruinart Rosé is also great! This was the current chef des caves’ first vintage and he really hit the ground running.
I think you definitely have a point regarding the Dom Pérignon comparison, given the toasty aromas; makes me wonder about proprietary yeast strains…
There were 2 3 packs of mags at IG Wines listed for £625 IB on wine searcher. I took them but there were other listings at £650 ib.
Seems to be cheaper in Europe. Don’t see those prices in the US

checking WS quickly it seems like its much more expensive in the States - you’re looking at circa £850/6 - I wonder if its tariff impacts or something. Or just being milked cuz they know they can.
Exactly. It’s definitely frustrating.
