It depends on your tastes for Chardonnay, but for me it is hard to beat most 1er Cru Chablis. Especially those that don’t use any or much wood.
What styles and/or regions do you like? It’s kind of hard to answer without knowing your leanings.
In Chablis, I find the 1ers from Billaud-Simon, Servin, La Chablisienne, and Louis Michel to be superb values. If you’re willing to spend a bit more money, Christian Moreau is world class.
Full disclosure Marcus is a close friend and Glennon winemaker. Regardless his 17 Goodfellow WV Chardonnay is absolutely incredible and the price even more incredible.
i just bought some 17 Freemark Abbey Napa Chard for $25 after tasting it… never would have considered since i admit my label biasness, but no malo and quite nice.
depends on a couple things: mostly what kind of chardonnay do you like and what do you consider a “good deal”?
