Can't make money selling liquor? Make hand sanitizer!

Glad to see businesses pivoting to their new reality. Equal parts desperation and good business sense. Good luck to all of them.

We ate out a couple times in NoVA last week and while both places were definitely “safety first”, you could tell they were hit hard. One place was well under 50% capacity and even that wasn’t full, so I’m not sure the pent up demand is there. And they certainly won’t pay their rent at that occupancy.

The other place was a smaller wine-bar and they didn’t lose much seating (took advantage of outdoor seating and spread things out). But they had a skeleton staff for sure. They might survive. A few family places looked busy-ish as well, but they aren’t going through cases of whisky and gin every week.

But Inn at Little Washington is booked through September, so what do I know?

We have reservations at the Inn for August. Should be interesting. So far, in our section of Virginia, there are very few cases.

Mix with toast, for pain grille.
