Glad to see businesses pivoting to their new reality. Equal parts desperation and good business sense. Good luck to all of them.
We ate out a couple times in NoVA last week and while both places were definitely “safety first”, you could tell they were hit hard. One place was well under 50% capacity and even that wasn’t full, so I’m not sure the pent up demand is there. And they certainly won’t pay their rent at that occupancy.
The other place was a smaller wine-bar and they didn’t lose much seating (took advantage of outdoor seating and spread things out). But they had a skeleton staff for sure. They might survive. A few family places looked busy-ish as well, but they aren’t going through cases of whisky and gin every week.
But Inn at Little Washington is booked through September, so what do I know?
