We also have the Stagg gooseneck with electronic temp control, which is great for making pourover coffee and the temp setting is easily adjustable for different types of tea. It pours very slowly because of the gooseneck.

+1 on the OXO. Used daily for 10 years, no issues, which is typical for OXO products.

I think this is a piece of shit. It is a nice idea - lift the handle and the spout opens, However, I went through two of them and then I gave up. The plastic around the whistle melted so the whistle fell out. When I replaced it with a new one, the pin that held the hinge in place fell out. I put it back together when I found the hinge pin, but after it fell out three times, I got fed up and threw it out. I was going to glue the pin in place but realized that would have probably made it impossible to open it.

Not for the OP because it doesn’t have a whistle, but I love my Sori Yanagi stainless kettle. Beautiful design that heats quickly, a spout that never dribbles, and an ergonomic handle that doesn’t overheat.

I concur with this recommendation for a stovetop kettle. I’ve had mine for 7 years and use it many times daily. It still looks and functions brand new. A quality piece of equipment.

was hoping to revive this a bit. i want an electric but i like to boil the water to reduce impurities. how do i simply have it both ways?
