Father’s Day Wine Selections

How was the HB?

With an Aboyer smorgasbord.
1982 Pichon Lalande
1994 Faustino
2015 Stag’s Leap

Finally decided on my last 24 oz. Flannery CA Reserve and my last 1996 Chateau St. Jean Cinq Cepages.

Did Flannery ribeyes and nys with that rion, it’s starting to open up!

Ha…what a crazy time when that was announced WS WOTY in 1999! I bought as much as I could with the one bottle per person allo. Used ALL my family members! [wow.gif] Also picked up all the 95 still around Costco for $24! John Gilman gave the 96 68pts! [shock.gif]

One bottle left…how is it?

2005 Malescot sitting in the decanter, and a 1947 Lefleur I bought a case of at auction a few years ago (perfect labels!)

Cork came out immaculately. Not having dinner til around 630 PST, will update. I bought a bunch at Albertson’s in Tacoma for $32 a bottle. Loved this wine in 1991 thru 2002.

HUGE fan Cinq Cepages 90’s! [worship.gif]

I trying to figure out if the Flannery or MACDONALD tasted better. flirtysmile flirtysmile

I’m looking forward to the last pour tomorrow.

Stood this up a few months ago and never got around to it until now, starting to open up after 40 minutes in the decanter. Dried strawberry, dried sour cherry and mixed nuts? Plenty of acid and a bit of tannin, great so far. Happy father’s day!

1985 Pape Clement with mushroom pasta

2000 Grand Puy Lacoste in the decanter, burgers headed to the grill in about 20 minutes, first kid due in four months. Heck of a Father’s Day. [cheers.gif]

A couple 2018 Carlisles with (socially distanced) friends: Sonoma County Syrah and Steiner Vyd Gruner.

Both crazy good.
