Favorite Sauvignon Blanc?

SRPS?

Standard retail price?

From memory Rochioli is $28, Spottswoode $38 and Araujo is close to $50 IIRC.

With SB I’m looking for value: Geyser Peak and Dancing Bull.

I guess I’m one of the few who doesn’t like the Merry Edwards style. For me, Dagueneau is the best. I don’t understand why people say it isn’t typical; I’ve seen good tasters identify the region blind. Maybe “not typical” means better than most. The Cotats I’ve had have been too oaky for my taste.

Patty Green Sav. Blanc, when it’s available. Cantina Terlano Quartz to cellar.

Doug,
Have you had Francois’s, Pascal’s, or both of their wines?

I’ve had at least one of each, but I think only one from Francois and several from Pascal. I haven’t tried more than a couple of vintages, though.

Another vote for ME- just wish it were a little less $$…

I remember that one well, it was a good one!

I still like an occasional Cloudy Bay but for the most part I still like Duckhorn, Chalk Hill, Mason amongst others. I bought a few of the Quivet SB’s and looking forward to trying those. Regarding the French SB’s, I love them when I have one but can never remember the names of the wineries.

Another vote for Merry Edwards, Cliff Lede, and Herb Lamb

My wife is a big SB fan and Spottswoode is her clear favorite.

On a related note - She has recently taken a liking to Chappellet Chenin Blanc and Myriad Semillon.

What is your drinking window on the Vatan’s?

Surprised no one has mentioned Dagueneau.

See post #14.

Rochioli is consistently special, Mondavi I Block is the best I’ve ever had.

No question: for me the Styrian Sauvignon blanc are perefct, especially
Stefan POTZINGER “Joseph” from Ried Sulz, right at the Slovenian border.

(BTW: Styria is an Austrian region in the South-East)

Domestic…
Arkenstone, Spottswoode, Rochioli and Araujo. Unfortunately, I no longer get any Araujo.
Loire…
Vatan , F. Cotat, and Boulay.

Vintage plays a large role. 2002 are drinking well now but plenty of life in front of them.
