As mentioned by others, any alcoholic beverage can trigger heartburn. I get it with wine episodically, usually when tasting without food. I don’t normally have GERD symptoms so I can’t speak to any drugs preventing it with wine, but in general PPI drugs like Nexium and Protonix are great for heart burn. If I have a problem, I just take a chewable TUMs. It takes care of the heartburn immediately and doesn’t poison my palate.
