Hitting 10,000 TNs in CT; some personal data points

Hi Len. Long time hope your safe and well

Hi Steve. Same to you hope you are safe and well.
We decided better to ride out the pandemic in Helsinki than NYC.
When we get to the new normal lets open a few together.

Two relevant questions: How many DUI’s have you been charged with? Are you on the list for a liver transplant?

Holy moly!

Hi and thanks! Now that you mentioned it, I probably should finish that travelogue with the final day report.

The Alko selection is generally very poor when it comes to Georgia. It was lousier a few years ago, when there was only 1 label in the regular selection and 2 more in the sale-to-order selection. Now there are a few more, but I haven’t tasted many of them.

Most of the wines aren’t in the regular selection, so you can’t find them in most shops, but you can always create a profile in the Alko website, purchase bottles there and they are delivered to your local shop in 3-4 days for free.

I’d say Tbilvino’s Qvevris Kisi is the best traditional Georgian in Alko’s selection. It might be a bit more from the commercial end of the stylistic spectrum, but it is still as uncompromising as the Georgian orange wines come.

The Qvevris Rkatsiteli is quite similar, but to me feels a bit inferior to the Kisi version. They have also a red Saperavi, but I haven’t tasted it yet.

Then there are a few Besini products, but I don’t know anything about them.

For the first one: none! The public transportation service in the Helsinki region is pretty great, so I really don’t have a need for a car - nor to drive one inebriated.

For the second one: Not yet, unless somebody else with better foresight has signed me up.

Great commentary on your top 50 estates, by notes posted.

I hope you get a chance to try more US wines over the next 10000 bottles!

Thank you!

I certainly hope I’ll get such opportunities! However, seeing how little makes it over the pond, I think something needs to change before I can get my hands on the interesting stuff. [shrug.gif]

We’ll see if this current pandemic stirs things a bit, so who knows what tomorrow will bring.
