How should a wine age???

For many coming into wine new, finding well stored, aged bottles is problematic. I remember not knowing whether some older Chardonnays were past it or what was expected. It takes awhile to get a feeling for what your palate enjoys. I spent some time investigating various wines with age and learned a lot. For me, that sherry-like flavor of older whites can acquire is a bridge to far. 10years is about my limit. I can enjoy Reds with more time but in general I am happy with younger and fresher.
