How would you guys manage a four person tasting

Taste/drink sensibly. There is no rule stating you have to drink your entire bottle of wine. If there’s anything left over I always leave it with the host/chef/restaurant.

Better yet, have two tastings. Many wines are better on the second day.
Might make the scheduling trickier.
Or have a little competition if the wines are blind to determine picking order for who gets to take what home.

Agree on spitting. And on food and taking your time. Even so, make sure no one is driving of course. Some alcohol will still be absorbed even with spitting, and in social settingif the wines are half decent you’ll drink a fair proportion anyway.
