Setting aside the coy shots at my weight; the specific comment made to Corey was about his desire to use an Air BNB vs a resort.

My comment was a concern about that housing model in Mexico.

Example; are Air BNB’s more obvious targets for theft?

Certainly the cartel activity is a concern in Mexico as is the ‘which police force do I trust’, and in the event of a bad outcome, would you be capable of properly getting help?

My risk evaluations are possibly different than others but I also consider Corey a dear friend, so this was a line of discussion in with his best interest at heart.

Glad others have stated ‘it is safe’.

My daughter and her husband arrived in PVR today. They will be staying in a resort while there. But they were in Guadalajara for the last 5 days staying in an Airbnb. She is experienced in traveling to Mexico and is a near native Spanish speaker which makes the trip easier for them.

Heard from my daughter yesterday. They have had no issues in either Guadalajara or Puerto Vallarta. They went out in a rickety boat to watch the whales yesterday. The boat sucked but the whale watching was amazing according to her.

I’ve operated on the theory that the stakeholders in Mexican resort areas, including/especially the drugs gangs and cartels, want all tourists to be and feel safe. Full hotels, shops, and restaurants are desirable for all sorts of reasons, including washing dirty cash. Allegedly.

Not sure what you are getting at but…

I am hoping to head to Mexico on Saturday. My resort is owned by the Chinese.
