Italy Trip Report- Positano, Rome, Montalcino, Florence

Great owners as well Rick and he really knows wine. I had that Chianti btg each time. They also do a great job with pizza.

Are you going to make it to Pitti Gola ? That 06 Monteraponi is reason enough to go. Have a great time.

On another note I took a look at plane fares for next year. Yikes, glad we went recently. Tickets have almost doubled.

Had dinner here last night. It was excellent, and the 2013 Chianti Classico Reserva we had off the list was very good. It’s very convenient to our hotel and we were a bit tired from all the climbing we had to do at the Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio, and Pitti Palace. Tonight we’ll venture further afield.

Looks like Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina has opened a new restaurant/tasting room at a different location in Florence: Enoteca De’ Giusti. Opening Day was November 10th.

We’ve gone through half of the case of 2016 Podere il Cocco we purchased during our visit. Great little place to visit or order their 2016 Brunello. It’s excellent and really showing well right now. http://www.ilcocco.it/it/cantina-brunello/prodotti

Made fresh pasta last night and have really put to use the cooking class we did at Locanda Demetra. We’re already planning our return visit.

That’s great to know. We were at Pitti Gola a couple days ago and had an amazing lunch experience.
