Lake Como restaurant recs

Tom or anyone else- we’re also staying at Hotel Du Lac. Did you try their restaurant ? just curious, thanks

And the Hotel Du Lac located directly on Lake Como was fabulous. A couple minute walk to both restaurants.

Fred, we did not have dinner there, had reservations elsewhere during our stay. A restaurant that we did not try (they were closed) but heard was very good and only a few steps from Hotel Du Lac is Al Prato. Excellent reviews from multiple sources. There’s always the next visit.

Back from our trip and thought I’d share our experiences. We loved Varenna and Hotel Du Lac. Terrific location, service, value by some wonderful folks. My only miss was they did not have a pool. Plenty of access to the lake but the temps were really hot and some pool time would have been good. Their rate though reflected it and they were a silly value for the experience.

Quatro Pass- I would’ve have eaten here twice if we could have gotten in again.

https://ilristorantemenaggio.it/- On Menaggio I would have come back for dinner if our schedule worked. We had an awesome lakeside lunch. Ridiculous good whites by the glass for 5E. Very professional staff and overall terrific experience. Awesome risotto and tartare. definitely go back

We tried getting in here and was a recommendation up thread and from other sources. Menu looked great but we couldn’t get in.

Il Cavatappi - Menu just didn’t have a lot that appealed to us and pasta’s were ok. Not impressed with the sauces. I will say their breaded lake trout was very good. Probably would not go back.

Hotel Suiss on Bellagio- great lunch and excellent pasta’s including the one done inside a cheese wheel. Dinner was a bit hit or miss but they were very busy and short handed. We would go back for lunch.

This thread was very helpful and we loved Varenna. Perfect mid lake spot and easy access to many of the towns.
