Open it a week ahead of time and you should be fine….
I have that same problem with gas station sushi.
He had it decanted at the beginning of dinner. We had it after three other wines, probably 1.5 hours after decanting. Since there were 6 of us, it didn’t last long, but my second pour was even better than my first.
Drank a very approachable bottle of 2009 Montrose last week. I gave it 100 points on CT.

I am in my late 60’s and, while showing all the restraint of a bulldog sighting a freshly dropped pork chop, I bought a case of the 2019. I could not pass up the Covid pre-arrival pricing. I just hope my kids will think of me when they are enjoying it down the road.
