My trip to Napa

Only the 2012 Cabernet. The wine had this great dark fruited profile up front, that settled in to a more red fruit profile through the wine. The nose was really complex, showing a nice dustiness, as well as the stone content of the vineyard. Can’t miss that green olive tapenade on the palate and nose too. The savory herb component on the finish, with firm, but not overly dry tannins kept it going for over a minute. The most radiant note was the stoniness of the wine, that ran from the mid-palate through the finish. Hints of pencil lead and flowers came through as well. All in all, very complex, very layered, and definitely gave me that impression this could last a very long time.

Thanks Ryan!

And thank you as well Pete!

We tasted Nine Suns when Jason was in Miami. Off the hook good.

Thanks, Ian, I appreciate the note. The wine sounds wonderful!

Are these wineries open for tastings to the general public, or do they limit it to wine club members and ITB folks?

By appointment only. Doesn’t hurt to ask though!

I would guess I am in the minority, but I don’t want any Syrah in my Cabernet and even less, Petite Sirah.
