You cannot tie membership to alcohol sales among other restrictions/laws.

May I ask then if a winery’s mailing list doesn’t do exactly that?

I’m not exactly sure. Alcohol laws are strange on a good day.

What I know is that for CostCo and Sam’s, they tried to say “only members can come in and buy”. Taht was struck down. Now anyone can walk into CostCo or Sam’s, they are not required to have a membership, and can freely purchase any alcohol.

Do you have a source for this? I would love to let my Costco membership lapse, and be armed with the information needed to continue purchasing wine from them. TIA.

I think it depends on the state. In MA, Costco has to offer their wines to non-members but I don’t think they have to in NH.

I think it is every state, costco has to sell alcohol to non members in CA and WA too.
