Rieslingfier is Back - Jan 2025

I started this thread with super excited. But I can not make it. See you all in 2027.

Bought my gala tickets and vip tasting. Coming from Seattle with friends. Also bringing a bottle specifically with @Robert_Dentice in mind!

Oh boy!

Hey Rob do you know how many tickets in total are sold for the gala? 80ish?

First timer. Look forward to the two events and the offlines!

There are 15 winemakers and each winemaker will be at a table with 10 seats so roughly 150 attendees.

It would have been hard to make it anyway but I have to admit that the quality of wine some people are bringing made me question my credentials in attending. I was going to bring an '84 Lauer sekt, a mag of 2016 Schafer-Frohlich Felseneck GG and possibly a mid 90’s Gunderloch TBA but felt a little like the fraud sneaking in by the kitchen door.

Thanks! That’s a party. See you there!

That sounds perfectly fine. If you are talking about Albert (as I haven’t seen anything about what others are bringing), he has a great collection and is happy to share with others, so you shouldn’t feel like you need to match up.

There’s absolutely no problem with that lineup, the Felseneck is arguably the best dry wine made in Germany.

Agree. Some people show up with one bottle and some 12. It is a very inclusive all about the love of wine crowd. Moreover everyone loves to share.

For sure. Also, I’m not bringing 12 bottles

I definitely had the “I’m not worthy” feeling at my first BYOB @Robert_Dentice #Rieslingstudy, and have it again now, but that all goes away when you get there. Everyone involved is super-friendly, inviting, and proud to share their goodies. Absolutely thrilled I got a ticket!:clinking_glasses:

There’s no issues with that lineup whatsoever. Bring what you’re excited about and want to share.

Some folks have deeper cellars than others and want to in turn be able to share that, but for the most part everyone there is just excited they can share their wines with other riesling fanatics. There is very little in the way of snobbishness amongst riesling collectors

I have been fortunate enough to spend some time with @Robert_Dentice, Stephen from VomBoden/RieslingFier and others who will be in attendance. Bring what you love, no one will be keeping score. A favorite saying of Klaus Peter Keller is that “wine brings people together” and that motto resonates with the German wine and Riesling crowd. This is going to be a great celebration, tons of wine and generous and happy people. The RieslingKenner team will be there so stop by and say hello. Please come and have no trepidation.

I could not agree more! We are so open I will not even look down upon you if you bring a La Tache reset! As long as I get a glass.

Hi All!

This will be my first time attending Rieslingfeier! Visiting from Seattle as well and bringing along my wife and two other friends to both the 10AM tasting and Gala.

We are so excited to join this community and make your acquaintances in what seems to be a long overdue celebration and share a few bottles of our own.

Cheers,
Benedict Almquist

It will be great to meet you! Stop by my table, I am bringing the heat as the cool kids say!

Who else here is attending?

I’ll be there. First time. Looking forward!

I will be there for both events. Taking the train from Providence that Friday. Dinner Friday night at Koloman on 29th St. Need to squeeze in time for a trip to Schaller und Weber for sausages.
