Robert Dentice - German Wine's Radical Love Machine

Lovely article, Robert. Mazel tov!

It is probably closer to 10% and it is old school Napa, Burgundy, Rhone and Beaujolais. I have also been really into Oregon lately.

that’s a great article.

Long time stalker, have even met you briefly at a local LA vinyl hous you frequent - bit really, 60% of my Riesling collection is your “fault”, and thank you

Thank you Maureen!

“RD: I want to be clear about one thing though: I drink German wine because I think it’s the greatest wine in the world. Not because it’s a great value. I think people try to bring that into the argument too much. But the wines would be great if they were 10 times the price, in some cases.”

That needed to be said. I, myself overuse the “it’s so undervalued!” argument too much. Although I selfishly wish the wines could stay cheap, so many German growers deserve to sell their wines at the price level of Keller and Egon Muller, not the other way around. Underappreciated is perhaps more apt.

As always, Robert is a class act. One of the greatest.

This was most dope! Cheers RD!

Nice article Robert and well deserved. Let me pour you some Richter some time soon.
