“It should be easy to see, the crux of the biscuit is the Apostrophe” But then I digress…
Speaking of rare treats around here, a Bob G sighting! Cheers!
To echo above, Jordan cabs, particularly the 1979 and 1986 are quite good.
I’ll add my voice to the existing recommendations of Dehlinger and Rafanelli. Superb stuff and well priced compared to their neighbors across the way.
Calluna.
They own the top of Chalk Hill and have planted to only Bordeaux varieties. David Jeffrey, winemaker, was trained in Bordeaux and has that sensibility to his wines. The Colonel’s Vineyard is the one to lay down; 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, but all the cuvées are worth trying. And their white is sensational.
Best, Jim
Agreed, a fellow Beserker informed me of this estate and their wines fail to disappoint.

I just picked up a 1991 (wife’s birth year) Kenwood Artist Series. I haven’t had this wine before (and am just started to explore older Cabs), but for $50, I figured it’s worth a shot.
Arrowood, Jordan, Silver Oak Alexander Valley and Kenwood (Jack London and Artist Series) come to mind. I haven’t had these in several years, so I don’t know how they are drinking now. Not a Cab, but some of the Ravenswood Pickberry’s from the early 90’s were fantastic. Those Laurel Glen’s from that time period are fantastic. Especially from the early to mid 90’s.

I enjoyed a 1997 Kenwood Artist series Cab last week with some friends, and also a 1997 Beringer Private Reserve the week before, and thought the Kenwood was amazing.
How about the Alexander Valley mid 90’s Gallo projects with Frei Ranch and Barrelli Creek. Amazing stupid value for the period.
