The Most Noble Of The Noble White Varieties?

I love Riesling and drink more Riesling than any other type of white wine. But, at the very top level, I think nothing compares with the top Chardonnay’s from Burgundy and Champagne so I voted for Chardonnay.

Chardonnay of course.
No question about it.

Def in top three. IMHO

Riesling, easy.

Riesling. but Chenin is in the conversation.

Whenever i have a great Riesling I chide myself a little for not buying more. Whenever I have a great CdB white I chide myself for not being able to buy more.

Impossible to say: Riesling and Chardonnay are on an equally high level but very different.
So I voted “other” just to view the results.

The question was “the most noble”, no? If the definition of noble is = variety with most pedigree or history, then it has to be Riesling. Chardonnay is an upstart. [wink.gif]

What a silly poll. What the hell - This year, for me, Riesling. Even after starting off in January with multiple Raveneau.

Pinot blanc.
